CONSTITUTION and BYLAWS

PETERBOROUGH CUE SPORT LEAGUE



NAME

1.The name of the Organization shall be Peterborough Cue Sport League, herein the PCSL or Association.

HEAD OFFICE

2. The principal place of the business office shall be determined by the President. The Association may have other such offices as may be designated from time to time by the President.

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

3. The purpose of the PCSL is to promote the sport of billiards in Peterborough and surrounding areas by establishing uniformity of rules and league play. All of its functions will be performed on a non-profit basis with the highest ethical standards and fair treatment to all its members and the entire billiard community.

4. The objectives of the Association shall be:
a) To afford due consideration to and expression of opinion by the Association members.
b) To elevate the sport of billiards to the highest level.
c) To unify and standardize the rules of play as established by the World Pool-Billiard Association.
d) To collect and maintain player statistics.
e) To practice sound accounting procedures and disseminate pertinent information to its members.
f) To promote and provide a Championship Program within Canada on an annual basis to its members.

MEMBERSHIP

5. Membership in the Association shall be limited to those interested in furthering the objects of the Association and shall consist of those whose application for admission as a member has received the approval of the President.

6. League Members-Any player who’s in good standing within the PCSL and affiliates may apply for membership.

7. The Association Fiscal League Year will run from June 1st through May 31st.

8. Any member may be given notice to withdraw from membership. All rights, privileges, and interest to the Association shall cease on the termination of membership which is effective upon date of withdrawal.

9. A membership may be suspended or terminated for violation of the bylaws or any other conduct prejudicial to the interest of the Association by a decision from the President.

MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS

10. REGULAR MEETINGS – Regular meetings of the Association may be held as necessary. The President shall be responsible for mailing notices of such meetings to all members not less than 7 days prior to such meeting.

11. SPECIAL MEETINGS – Special meetings of the Association may be called by the request of the President or by a majority of the Captains in the league at the time.

OFFICERS

12. The President shall annually elect a League Executive and a Treasurer from among the League Members.

13. Vacancies in the office may be filled for the balance of the term thereof by the President.

14. The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Association. He shall preside at all meetings of the Association and shall be a member, with the right to vote. He shall have the general and active management of the affairs of the Association. He shall see that all orders and resolutions of the league are carried into effect.

15. The League Executive shall, in the absence or disability of the President, perform the duties and exercise the powers of the President and perform other such duties as assigned by the President.

16. The Treasurer will keep account of all monies received and expended for the use of the Association and for making disbursements authorized by the President.
